REFERENCE/RESEARCH
See the Reference
Librarians for assistance in finding information using a wide variety of print
and electronic sources, doing literature searches, citation verification,
bibliographies, using the WWW and other special reference and information
services. Stop at the desk, call 368-6465 or ext. 1246 or email
library@mmc.mtmercy.edu. Appointments may be made for in-depth term
paper or project consultation. Start your library research early in a semester
or accelerated program block to have time to gather the most useful information.
LIBRARY INSTRUCTION
Finding,
evaluating and using information is the mainstay of a college education. There
are numerous handouts in the
Busse Library Notebook to assist students
with various aspects of this process. Several tip sheets on citation styles are
included in the Notebook series.
The Reference Staff is here
help you learn about the use of the library for assignments and papers. This may
involve the library research process, the various electronic and print
information sources, the Internet and World Wide Web. Workshops and individual
instruction are available. Come to the Reference Desk or call 368-6465 or
on-campus at ext. 1246.
