Kathryn Coulter

Professor of Business

Professor of Business Kathryn Coulter has served taught at Mount Mercy since 1987. Prior to coming to Mount Mercy Coulter taught at San Francisco State College, the University of California – Berkeley, Florida International University, and Eastern Michigan University. Coulter also has experience as a staff attorney, having worked for Legal Services of Eastern Michigan and for the Michigan Office on Aging. She served as the Hearings Division supervisor for the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Coulter holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa, a Masters of Business Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa.

Coulter belongs to the American Bar Association, the Association for Conflict Resolution, and the Iowa Association of Mediators. She served on the Cedar Rapids Civil Rights Commission for six years, and was awarded the Linn County Woman of the Year in 1994.

Coulter is available to speak to the media on issues involving civil rights, mediation, or other law related topics.
