Master of Business Administration Program Director Deb Oliver joined Mount Mercy's Business Division in 2007. She also serves as assistant professor of business.
Oliver previously served four years at the Iowa Quality Center as an organizational performance specialist and eight years at Rockwell Collins — the last four years as a lean consultant in the finance area. Her teaching experience at Mount Mercy includes several years of teaching in the Advance program and the past two years teaching business for the traditional undergraduate program. She also previously taught at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI).
Oliver's educational journey in higher education began when she returned to college in 1991. She graduated from UNI in 1994 with a Bachelor's degree in management with an emphasis in human resources. She earned a Master's degree in organizational behavior in 1996 from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and a Ph.D. in organizations and management in 2009 from Capella University.
Oliver volunteers with several community service groups, including the Homeless Children's Trust, Girl Scouts, The Tuesday Evening Optimists and the American Cancer Society. One of her greatest joys is directing her church's adult choir.
Oliver resides in Dysart, where she has lived with her husband, Steve, for over 30 years. Their three children are grown with families of their own living in Dysart, Cedar Rapids and Ankeny.
