Over half of Mount Mercy students commute to campus each day. Some are undergraduate juniors and seniors living in Cedar Rapids. Others are graduate and adult students taking night and weekend classes to expand their career opportunities. All of them are valued members of the Mount Mercy community.
We encourage both commuter and residential students to make the most of their Mount Mercy experience:
- Get involved in one of our more than 30 student clubs and organizations
- Go on a service trip
- Cheer on a Mustangs athletic team
- Help plan and participate in annual events like Vegas Night, Winter Formal and Spring Fling
Close & Convenient
The Mount Mercy campus is only 3.5 miles from downtown Cedar Rapids and is easily accessible by car, bus or bike. When you get here, there is plenty of free parking only minutes from your classroom door. In the winter, park near one of the tunnel entrances and walk comfortably to class in our network of heated underground walkways.
Unlimited Access
Even if you don’t live on campus, you’ll have unlimited access to the Busse Library and other study areas, all campus dining halls and cafes, the University Center and the Hennessy Recreation Center.
