Admissions Data and Communications Manager

The Data and Communications Manager is responsible for information management and database processes in the Office of Admissions to ensure accurate records and the timely delivery of print and electronic correspondence. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily flow of print and electronic communications with prospective students.
  • Oversee data entry, list management, and information quality.
  • Process test scores and inquiry data; batch-load datasets into central administrative database.
  • Maintain inventory of print materials and supplies.
  • Assist in the development of communications campaigns; design workflows for response tracking and reporting.
  • Implement technology solutions that will support admissions counseling, improve the student experience, and meet the decision-making needs of the institution.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the campus community and among business partners.
  • Develop knowledge of the University, its programs, services, and character.
  • Represent the University in a positive manner when interacting with prospective students, families, and alumni.
  • Understand and adhere to national guidelines for ethical and supportive admissions processes.
  • Supervise the work of student workers doing data entry and mail processing.

 

Recommended Skills/Competencies:

  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Continual and close attention to detail in managing correspondence and entering data, with the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office.  Requires advanced Excel skills and proficiency with MS Access.
  • Experience with CRM, SIS, or ERP software helpful; SunGard PowerCampus experience preferred.
  • Experience with online forms, bulk email tools, relational databases, and query/view development preferred

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and one or more years in college/university admissions or related experience in higher education, or experience in data services, MIS/information technology, or communications/marketing or a related field.
