The department of Academic Affairs brings the Mount Mercy mission to life through a curriculum rich in high-interest majors, courses and other learning experiences. Faculty members across the University, part of Academic Affairs, collaborate to create outstanding, student-oriented educational programs emphasizing growth in reflective judgment, strategic communication, purposeful living, and serving the common good.

Students' academic experience is organized around the Core Curriculum, Reflection and Action. The curriculum exemplifies Mount Mercy’s mission to instill in students a love of knowledge as well as a love of community service and volunteerism, encouraging a passion for civic engagement. Through the Core Curriculum, students will reflect on their thinking as they develop an understanding of self and the world, and take action to promote the well-being of others.  Learn more  >

In addition, the Academic Affairs staff includes dedicated individuals actively working with students in: advising and registration, academic support, career services, library resources and instructional technology, honors and partnership programming, campus ministry, service learning, and the Mount Mercy Institute - offering accelerated and special programs.

Since the scope of our work is so broad, students as well as faculty have varied opportunities to visit our office for information and advice. We look forward to each visit and contributing to a positive academic experience at Mount Mercy.
